About Department

The department was started in the academic year 2006-2007 and comprises of supporting departments like Mathematics, General Science- Applied Physics & Applied Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and workshop. The initial intake of 240 students has now increased to 360 students.

Pattern of functioning

Curricular activities

Class teacher and one more staff look after the class as guardians to monitor the attendance and to solve academic & non academic problems of students. Parents of absent students who do not obtain permission from respective teacher guardian are contacted daily over telephone. Also parents are informed about the performance and overall attendance of their ward via letters. The system of taking written permission for their leave (leave form) in case of unavoidable situations has been successfully implemented. Parents meetings are conducted in the middle of the semester for interaction between parents and staff.

The College gives individual e-mail accounts to the students using Google Apps. The aim is to move from "teaching centred approach" to "learning centred approach". Using Google Apps, students get access to teaching material prepared by our teachers. This facility has various other advantages like chatting with teachers to solve queries, receiving assignments, sharing the documents etc. Soft copies of course work, university question papers, e-books related to the subject, co-curricular information etc. are made available to the students using this facility.

Academic calendar is displayed on the first day of the semester and accordingly three tests are conducted in each semester followed by repeat tests for improvement. Remedial classes are conducted for the students who require more attention.

Co-curricular activities

For the overall development of the student, guest lectures on personality development, counselling of the students, how to prepare for engineering examination etc. are arranged from time to time.

Extra-curricular activities

Our students participate in competitions like Paper presentation, Purushottam Karandak, Pu. La. Karandak, Firodia, Verve, Intercollegiate Competitions, Youthopia etc. organized by various colleges and are performing very well.
