About laboratories

F.E. department consists of the following labs:

• Applied Physics laboratory
• Applied Chemistry laboratory
• Laboratories for Basic Electrical Engineering, Electrical Machine and Measurement
• Basic Civil and Environmental laboratory

General Science

This department is engaged in teaching basic sciences i.e., Physics and Chemistry to the first year engineering students of four core branches conducted by the college.

Applied Physics

Applied physics laboratory is on the first floor and is designed with modern   furniture. Students learn physics through various experiments  like Newtons rings, Diffraction grating, Malu's law, Ultrasonic interferometer, Resolving power of telescope, double diffraction, e/m by Thomson's method, energy band gap, solar cell characteristics, photocell characteristics, Diode characteristics etc.

Applied Chemistry

As per the curriculam designed by renowned faculty members from Pune University, the Chemistry laboratory of MMCOE is set with essential equipments, glassware and chemicals. Equipments available in chemistry lab: Muffle furnace, oven, pH meter, Colorimeter, digital electronic balance, water distillation unit, etc.  Experiments are critically selected so as to cover most of the engineering oriented chemistry principles. To mention a few experiments:

• Proximate analysis of coal
• Chemical analysis of water like hardness, chloride content, alkalinity etc.
• Corrosion extent determination
• Alloy Analysis

Electrical Department

The department is on 3^rd floor and has three major labs; Basic Electrical Engineering, Electrical Machine and Measurement.

It has experimental facilities for Wiring exercises, study of various lamps, safety precautions and energy conservation, single phase transformer load test, study of LCR series circuit, verification of network laws and theorems, effect of temperature rise on resistance.

Basic Civil and Environmental Laboratory

Engineering mechanics laboratory is situated on 1^st floor . It has virtual laboratory for the subject like engineering mechanics.

Basic Civil Engineering laboratory has modern equipments for dumpy level, Auto level, planimeter, GPS, etc.

Workshop

Workshop is spacious and is well equipped with various machines for Carpentry- with wood turning lathes, Fitting- with Drilling, Grinding machines, Welding, Black smithy, Sheet metal, Plastic moulding machines, Machine shop - with lathes, Hacksaw machine etc.
