Introduction:

Synergy is the watchword of present day industrial applications. Accordingly an extensive knowledge of hardware and software design is a desirable quality of a Computer Engineer. Computer has become an essential tool for all applications. Hence a Computer Engineer is required to analyze a problem to select appropriate tools to integrate and build systems. Therefore learning computer engineering is challenging but rewarding.

The department is established with the aim of meeting the changes and challenges in technological development for industrial arena .Therefore we have the team of enthusiast, well qualified and competent faculty members.  Most of the curriculum is taught using modular learning approach to integrate the academic programs with practical knowledge. Also co-curricular activities are carried out to promote the intellectual growth of the students so that the next generation of engineers would prove excellence in all fields.

In addition eminent personalities from industries are invited to give an insight on latest technologies that are practiced. Students are encouraged to work on sponsored projects from industries. We use and encourage the use of open source software to the maximum extent which is less prone for security related crashes.

Objectives:

• To develop among students the ability of team work, in professional and social life.
• To develop among students the ability to design system and perform error free coding.
• To develop ability to interpret and test system results while working in a group.
• To create among students the curiosity, desire and the ability to keep learning throughout life

• Organized "Linux operating system installation" and "Open source tools" training program for staff and students.
• Participation of staff members in IBM training programme on Rational Suite Architecture and Rational Suite Enterprises.
• Short term course on Java Programming conducted for students
• A workshop on “Cloud Computing” was organized under Student’s chapter of Computer Society of India.
