Computer Engineering Department Activities:

Various activities are conducted in the department for progress of the student as complete and multidimensional engineer with state of art knowledge like guest lectures, industrial visits and student association events. Some activities are also conducted for development of faculty like sponsorships for workshops, conferences etc.

Guest Lectures: Guest and Expert Lectures on various topics in curriculum and for additional information in industrial fields are frequently arranged for the students.

· The CSI student chapter innoguration was conducted by Mr. Mohnish Darda on 17^th Jan 2009.

· A guest lecture by Mohnish Darda was conducted on 17^th Jan 2009 for SE &TE(Comp/IT) students on JAVA servlet.

· A guest lecture by Dr. Vijay Mandke,Lead Reasearcher,CIIR,Pune was conducted on 22^nd Jan 2009 for SE &TE(Comp/IT) students on Management Information System.

· A guest lecture by 'HCL Carrer Development Centre' was conducted on 28th January 2009 for TE (Comp/IT) students on " Introduction to networking & Careers in IT networking".

Workshops Organised:

· Computer & IT Department conducted a Two Day Workshop on "Linux Operating System Installation". Faculty members from various engineering colleges in Pune University participated in this Workshop.

· Computer & IT Department conducted a Four Day Workshop on "Open Source Tools"on 16^th Dec 2008. Faculty members from various engineering colleges in Pune University participated in this Workshop.

· Computer & IT Department conducted a One Day Workshop on "F.E. Online Examination Training" on 2^nd Jan 2009. Faculty members from all the engineering colleges in Pune University participated in  this Workshop.

Student Association (CESA & ITSA):

· The students of Department of Computer Engineering formed their student council with the name CESA.

Various activities that find a place in the plan of action of the council are arranging industrial visits & technical tours, conducting general & technical competitions like quiz, robotics, paper presentation, programming language competitions.

Departmental Library:

Departmental Library containing 175 books till date. The council also manages the functioning of a Departmental Library which provides full time easy access to a good number of text books and reference books related to the curriculum of the entire engineering phase.

Industrial Visits:

l Visit to Persistant Technology Ltd, Pune was arranged for TE (Computer) students.

l Visit to CWPRS Khadakwasala was arranged for SE (Computer) students.

l Visit to AIR,Shivajinagar was arranged for TE(Computer) students.

Student Achievements:

1. Dhananjay Talegaonkar , Sagar Sabnis and Suraj Shaha from SE Comp II has participated at Vedh - Quit compition  in Siddhant college on 10^th and 11^th March 2010 and won 1^st prize.
2. Nilesh Shende from SE Comp II has participated at gaming - counter strike competition in Siddhant college on 10^th and 11^th March 2010 and won 2^nd prize.
3. Tejas Telele and Abhijit shah from SE Comp II has participated at Robot Race competition in MIT Alandi College on 16^th and 17^th March 2010 and won 1^st prize.
4. Tejas Telele from SE Comp II has participated at Software project competition in PICT College on 23^rd and 24^th March 2010 and won 1st prize.
5. Darshana Rathi from SE Comp II has participated at gaming - counter strike competition in PICT College on 23^rd and 25^th March 2010 and won 1^st prize.
6. Sanchit Sharma from SE Comp II has participated at Paper presentation "ECO-SOLUTION" (national level) competition in Symbiosis Institute on 12^th and 14^th March 2010 and won 1^st prize.
7. Ketan Pandkar from TE Comp II had won the Football competition in MIT, Symbiosis Engg. College.
8. Amey  Jahagirdar and Kanika Agrawal from BE Comp has presented a paper titled " Common Instruction Set for Azure and EC2" in RSCOE on 22^nd-23^rd March and won 2^nd Prize.
9. Siddhi Auti, Pushkar Umaranikar and Ujwala Tambe from BE Comp won first prize for the project titled "Common Instruction Set for Azure and EC2" in Cloud Computing in Project Competition "Intexication" in MIT, Pune in March 2010.
10. Nikhil Khivansara and Sanket Kittur from BE computers worked and successfully completed the Live project titled "Indian Automotive Consumer Research" in KPIT Cummins Infosystems Limited from 7^th October 2010 to 17^th October 2010.
