ACHIEVMENTS

  1. Mrs. Priya Thakare completed M.Tech (I.T.) from BVCOE with 65%.
  2. Mrs. Priya Thakare published paper in International Journal of Engineering Research and Industrial Applications (Vol - 4, No III, Aug 2011) titled "Replica Management strategy for improving availability, load balancing and space utilization".
  3. Mrs. Priya Thakare published paper in International Journal of Information, knowledge and Research in computer Engineering (Issue 02, Vol 01), July 2011 titled "Adaptive overlapped backup division: An availability strategy for multiprocessor database machines".


Information Technology Department Activities:

Various activities are conducted in the department for progress of the student as complete and multidimensional engineer with state of art knowledge like guest lectures, industrial visits and student association events. Some activities are also conducted for development of faculty like sponsorships for workshops, conferences etc.

Guest Lectures: Guest and Expert Lectures on various topics in curriculum and for additional information in industrial fields are frequently arranged for the students.


Workshops Organised:

Two days state level workshop on "Research Areas in Biometric Technologies Systems & Application".

 


A State Level Workshop on "Research Areas in Biometric Technologies Systems & Applications" was organized at Marathwada Mitra Mandal's College of Engineering, Karvenagar, Pune by Department of Information Technology on 23rd & 24th February 2011. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. S.S.Inamdar, Senate member, University of Pune, in presence of Hon. Shri. B.G.Jadhav, Treasurer, Marathwada Mitra Mandal, Pune, Dr. A.N.Gaikwad, Principal, MMCOE and convener of the workshop Prof. (Mrs.) S.B.Sonkamble, Head of department, Information Technology, MMCOE Pune.

The main objective of the workshop was to gather the academicians, researchers, and the students from different disciplines under engineering faculty. This workshop was successful due to the overwhelming response from the participants throughout the Maharashtra.

The eminent resource persons visited and conducted the valuable, knowledgeable and research oriented sessions by floating the new key research oriented guidelines for the participants. Dr. R.C.Thool, Head of Information Technology Department, SGGSIE&T Nanded, Dr. A.N.Gaikwad, Principal, MMCOE Pune, Dr. P.M.Patil, VIT Pune, Dr. M.S.Sutaone, COE Pune, Dr. A.M.Sapkal, COE Pune, Dr.R.B.Ingle, PICT Pune, Dr. A.S.Abhyankar, VIIT Pune, contributed their extended knowledge of their specialized research areas with the participants.

The closing ceremony of the workshop was graced by Shri. S. J. Bokephode, Deputy Registrar in Planning & Development Section, University of Pune, on 24th Feb 2011. Shri. Bokephode elaborated the various schemes and programmes running under P&D Section, University of Pune to the participants and suggested to take the advantages of such programmes which will be helpful to make their career bright. Dr. A. N. Gaikwad, Principal, MMCOE focused on the various activities running by MMCOE, Pune and announced to all the participants that in future our college will be the platform for their research work. Lastly, Prof. (Mrs.) S.B.Sonkamble, Convener of workshop gave vote of thanks to all the participants and the guiding force as well as the resource persons along with organizing team. She also directed to the participants to actively think about the research opportunities in the field of "Biometric Technologies" for their successful career.

  • Department of Information Technology conducted a Two Day Workshop on "Linux Operating System Installation".  Faculty members from various engineering colleges in Pune University participated in this Workshop.

 

  • Department of Information Technology conducted a Four Day Workshop on "Open Source Tools"on 16th Dec 2008.  Faculty members from various engineering colleges in Pune University participated in this Workshop.
  • Department of Information Technology conducted a One Day Workshop on "F.E. Online Examination Training" on 2nd Jan 2009.  Faculty members from all the engineering colleges in Pune University participated in this Workshop.

 

Departmental Library:

Departmental Library 125 books till date. The council also manages the functioning of a Departmental Library which provides full time easy access to a good number of text books and reference books related to the curriculum of the entire engineering phase.

 

Students' Achievements:

  1. Riyaz Shaikh - - won 2nd prize in SQL competition held at G. H. Raisoni  COE, Wagholi  in the month of March 2011

  2. Ashish Vishwakarma - won 2nd prize in paper presentation competition  "AURA 2011" held at Gyanba Moze COE, Balewadi in the month of March 2011.
