ACHIEVMENTS

Educational Achievements of Staffs:

All the staff members are motivated for further education and research to achieve excellence in teaching learning process and personal profile.

• Mrs. Sulochana Sonkamble pursuing Ph. D. in computer science & engg.
• Mrs. Rupali Chopade persuing M.E. In Information Technology.
• Mrs. Chitra Dahatonde persuing B.E. In E & TC.

Information Technology Department Activities:

Various activities are conducted in the department for progress of the student as complete and multidimensional engineer with state of art knowledge like guest lectures, industrial visits and student association events. Some activities are also conducted for development of faculty like sponsorships for workshops, conferences etc.

Guest Lectures: Guest and Expert Lectures on various topics in curriculum and for additional information in industrial fields are frequently arranged for the students.

• The CSI student chapter innoguration was conducted by Mr. Mohnish Darda on 17^th Jan 2009.
• A guest lecture by Mohnish Darda was conducted on 17^th Jan 2009 for SE &TE(Comp/IT) students on JAVA servlet.
• A guest lecture by Dr. Vijay Mandke,Lead Reasearcher,CIIR,Pune was conducted on 22^nd Jan 2009 for SE &TE (IT) students on Management Information System.
• A guest lecture by 'HCL Carrer Development Centre' was conducted on 28thJanuary 2009 for TE (IT) students on " Introduction to networking & Careers in IT networking".
• A guest lecture by Mr.Somnath Thigale was conducted on 14^th Feb 2009 for TE (IT) students on IBM Rational Rose & TGMC 2009 at IBM.
• A guest lecture by Mr.James,Maxcom Technology was conducted on 17^th Feb 2009 for TE(IT) students on Internet2 & applications.

• A guest lecture by Prof. Ghare was conducted on 22^nd & 28^th Feb2009 for TE(IT) students on System Programming.
• A guest lecture by Mr. Nitin Bhosekar was conducted on 20^th March 2009 for TE(IT) students on Software Engineering.

Workshops Organised:

• Department of Information Technology conducted a Two Day Workshop on "Linux Operating System Installation".  Faculty members from various engineering colleges in Pune University participated in this Workshop.

• Department of Information Technology conducted a Four Day Workshop on "Open Source Tools"on 16^th Dec 2008.  Faculty members from various engineering colleges in Pune University participated in this Workshop.

• Department of Information Technology conducted a One Day Workshop on "F.E. Online Examination Training" on 2^nd Jan 2009.  Faculty members from all the engineering colleges in Pune University participated in this Workshop.

Workshops, Conferences and STTPs  attended by faculty members:

• Prof. Mrs. Sulochana Sonkamble & Mrs. Rupali Chopade attended STTP on "DB2 Tchnology" organized by PICT & IBM.

Student Association (CESA & ITSA):

• The students of Department of  Information Technology formed their student council with the name CESA & ITSA respectively.

Various activities that find a place in the plan of action of the council are arranging industrial visits & technical tours, conducting general & technical competitions like quiz, robotics, paper presentation, programming language competitions.

Departmental Library:

Departmental Library 125 books till date. The council also manages the functioning of a Departmental Library which provides full time easy access to a good number of text books and reference books related to the curriculum of the entire engineering phase.

Industrial Visits:

• Visit to Persistant Technology Ltd, Pune was arranged  for TE (IT) students.
• Visit to CWPRS Khadakwasala was arranged for SE (IT) students.
• Visit to AIR,Shivajinagar  was arranged for TE(IT) students.
